Access All Areas

is a multimedia dance work about making inaccessible buildings accessible. The concept combines Architecture, Dance, and Film as collaborative mediums. Architectural structures are not just a backdrop, but an integral part of the movement and dramaturgy of the work.

Using the material and spaces we scout out, we will encounter our surroundings and ask ourselves the following questions: What influence does architecture have on movement in space? How do architectural elements influence dance in its form and gestures? And vice versa: how can contemporary dance make architecture tangible?

About

In the past, Mireille Solomon has designed and realized buildings as an architect. In her work as a lighting designer, she has illuminated spaces, squares and exhibitions as well as dance performances. As a freelance architect and lighting designer, she designed the Eintanzhaus in Mannheim together with the founders and is still involved in the project today. In 2020, she decided to break new ground and focus on interior, furniture, set and lighting design.

Her second passion is contemporary dance, which she has been practicing as an advanced dancer for more than 20 years. She has danced in numerous stage plays by Aki Kato. She has also taken part in various professional workshops: Viewpoints with Martin Carnevali, Gimor with Shaked Dagan, Axis Syllabus with Kira Kirch & Antoine Ragot, Welcome to the Joy of making Choreography with Reut Shemesh, as well as professional training with Didier Théron, Jean-Hugh Assohoto, Luches Huddleston Jr. among others. Her dance style was shaped by a 10-day participation in Gaga in Tel Aviv/Israel.

To satisfy her curiosity about dance in film, she took part in the film choreography workshop with Sarah Möller and the Shockwave Delay workshop with Yoshiko Chuma as part of the POOL Festival. In collaboration with 20 international and national artists, she contributed her knowledge of spatial design and dance to the creation process of the Outdoor Creation Summit 2022 at the Eintanzhaus.

In her own productions, she combines her passion for the built and movement. She performed her first multimedia dance piece in September 2024. Further stages in Biella (Italy) and Pardubice (Czech Republic) will follow in 2025.
